The Pre-School is a Committee run activity of the Brentwood Baptist Church and you can find the Constitution on our Notice Board in the Side Room.  You can also find our Constitution under the page heading ‘Constitution’.

The Committee, who manages the setting, includes a Chair Person, Secretary and Treasurer – all of which are members of the Brentwood Baptist Church and  UP TO THREE PARENT REPRESENTATIVES – who are elected by the parents of the children who attend the setting. The elections take place at our Annual General Meeting. As we are a Charity in our own right – all committee members become OFFICERS / TRUSTEES.  Our Notice Board displays the names and photos of all committee members/trustees.    The committee is responsible for:

  • Managing the settings finances;
  • Employing and managing the staff;
  • Making sure that the setting has, and works to, policies that help to provide a high quality service; and
  • Making sure that the setting works in partnership with the children’s parents.

The Committee meets at least once a term for approx 1-2hours.  All parents are welcome to speak to the parent representatives about their thoughts and ideas that can be discussed during the meeings to promote the running of the pre-school.

The Annual General Meeting is open to all the parents of all the children who attend the setting – and this is when new parents may be elected onto the Committee.
Parents/Carers will be advised of the date that this meeting will occur and given a report looking back over the previous year’s activities. This is also a time when we renew our Policies.

We were given ‘GOOD’ on our last Ofsted inspection in OCTOBER 2015
We are a member of the EARLY YEARS ALLIANCE.
Details of our Insurance, Ofsted Report, Complaints and Disciplinary procedure together with information regarding our Pre-School Learning Alliance membership are displayed on our notice board.

We maintain the ratio of adult to children that is set through the STATUTORY FRAMEWORK FOR THE EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE – Setting the standards for learning, development and care for children from birth to five.
